“The hard problems only show up on a real aircraft. A model that scores well at a desk can still miss a vehicle at the edge of the frame, and finding out why is the job.”
Khan works on how Avalon sees and hears: the computer vision that picks vehicles out of a camera feed, and the speech recognition that turns a radio call into a command. The onboard setup on every Jetson is Khan's too.
“My job is getting what a customer asks for onto a test range, safely and soon. Here that loop takes weeks rather than years, which is why I came.”
Sam runs Breaker's customer programmes, from the first interface document to demo day on the range. The run-sheets, the test-site approvals and the feature requests coming back from the field all cross Sam's desk.
